It’s Time For Show And Tell
Let me “show” you some of the work I’ve done, and “tell” you why i did it.
Print Banner
Client: Cherry Tree Productions (Professional Event Entertainment Company)
Audience: Brides and Grooms
Challenge: Recreate the pop up banner used at a wedding trade show. The wedding show is an overwhelming environment with many vendors who offer the same services. The goal is to have a banner that stands out and draws people into the booth to engage in conversation.
Tone: Sincere and Magical
Strategy: As a “one-stop” shop for all event entertainment needs, the original banner was a list of the technical services the company offered. I wanted to focus on using words that reminds the bride and/or groom that the day truly is about them. Using Your Dream Wedding Begins With You and Envision a reception that reflects the both of you to show that they are the most important aspect of the day. And including one of the company’s original taglines “If You Can Imagine It, Let’s Make It Happens” let’s couples know that booking the event is not just a number in the books for the company, but an opportunity to work together to make someone’s day everything they’ve wanted it to be.
Video Ad Script
Client: VogueFit, (Pole and Aerial Fitness Studio)
Audience: Current members of the studio and people looking to change up their workout.
Challenge: To create a social media video to promote a weekly drop in fitness class
Tone: Energetic, catchy and inviting
Strategy: As an aerial fitness instructor, I know that word of mouth can increase credibility and build trust. I felt it was important to have the student testimonials in the video to allow potential “comers” a chance to hear from someone other than the instructor or the staff/studio on how beneficial the class is. The video clips allow people to see the actual exercises and the different variations to show all levels are welcome. The minimal word phrases keep it clean and impactful.
Radio Ad Script
Client: Cherry Tree Productions (Professional Event Entertainment Company)
Audience: Brides and Grooms
Challenge: To create a radio ad that has people remembering the company’s name so they come looking for their booth at the wedding show. Additionally to have enough content to fill 30 seconds without it sounding too rushed or having too much dead air.
Tone: Upbeat and Sentimental
Strategy: I evaluated the previous year’s radio ads and adapted them to add key phrases that would be memorable and meaningful for brides and grooms such as:
You will always remember your special day, let’s make it a night everyone else remembers to
And using a line from the banner ad so when they saw it at the show it made it connected the radio ad to the physical company:
Your dream wedding begins with you…I’m here to help bring your vision to life
Magazine Ad (Spec)
Client: Covergirl (Cosmetics Company)
Audience: Make-up lovers between 24-40 who are confident and like using make-up to enhance their natural beauty
Challenge: Create a one-page magazine ad to introduce a new lipstick that doesn’t look fake or over the top in an engaging way to get people to want to go to their local drugstore and buy it.
Tone: Fun, Stylish and Promotional
Strategy: In keeping with the idea of a product that enhances natural beauty, I wanted to keep the copy clean and minimal. Showcasing the product’s goal is really about the True You shining through and then having three bullet points focusing on the benefits that is direct, clear and compelling.
Website (Spec)
Client: Event Entertainment Company
Audience: Couples looking to hire an entertainment company for the event
Challenge: To update the wedding section of the website and have potential clients clicking through to book a meeting
Tone: Endearing, Sincere, Magical
Strategy: I chose to have four separate sections so the words on each part stand out more rather than having paragraphs to read. I wanted the focus to be as if speaking directly to the couple and how this day can be personalized to them. And reinforcing that what is important to the couple is equally important to the company.
